They say too much of anything is bad. This saying couldn’t stand truer when it comes to alcohol. This powerful substance can show you a good time but can also bring the worst out of you. Alcoholism isn’t an easy battle but Maati Sangathan from Uttarakhand are determined to fight it.
Founded in the 1990s by local women, Maati spoke up against the growing violence on women and protested against liquor sales and its misuse. It stresses on livelihood support for women in order to make them independent.
Timur is a delicious result, and one of the many products, born out of the efforts of this group that strives to better the society that they live in.
Timur is a variety of schiuan pepper, popular in Chinese, Tibetan, Nepali and Indian cuisine. It’s flavour is intensely citrus and proves to be a great seasoning that adds a depth of flavour to dishes.
